Week One: Check!

Well, I've successfully completed week one of the BeachBody Challenge. For the most part, I stuck to the program strictly--especially with regard to the exercise portion. Some days, I even went for an additional walk with the baby. The nutrition seems to be the more difficult part for me. As I suspected, the August 5th menu that I created was a great "skeleton" plan. However, I found that on most days, I would become hungry between my afternoon snack and dinner....and then again before bed time. When this happened, I generally allowed myself a sensible snack. My most common "go to" items are always plain yogurt with berries, fruit and a string cheese, or a couple of WASA crisp breads with PBJ smeared on them. Can't get enough PBJ......

But, other than those minor run-ins with unanticipated hunger, I would say that the plan was well followed. So....now we get to the good part.....RESULTS!

Considering it was just one week of work, I decided to monitor only my waist size and weight. At the close of the first week, I had lost a full pound and a full inch off of my waistline! I WAS SO EXCITED! SO SO EXCITED. This was the first real progress that I had seen in weeks! Well worth the effort. As the weight watcher cliche goes..."nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." For me--that's the darn truth!

Looking forward to the week ahead.....Here is my menu and fitness plan for WEEK TWO:

I must say, where Shakeology is concerned, I am really enjoying it....I find myself loving the chocolate--blended with 1 cup of skim milk and a handful of ice cubes. That's pretty boring, compared to the fancy recipes that I've seen for Shakeology. But, it works!

Since Sunday is the day that I create my weekly menu, it also happens to be the best day for me to go food shopping. With that said, I came across a pretty cool visual to keep in my "Fitmama" toolbox. I actually took a picture of it with my phone, so that when I am in the grocery store...I can look at it. I thought I'd share...

This is based off of Tosca Reno's "Eat Clean" Diet, which I am a huge fan of.... But, like I said...this is just a great tool for anyone.

My goal for this week is to keep up the good work, and aim to see the same level success at the close of  Week TWO! And, now I wrote it!
