Eat Clean Pita Pizzas


I love pizza! Who doesn't? Unfortunately, I find that when I eat restaurant style pizza, as great as it tastes---it doesn't leave me feeling very well in the tummy. Not to mention, we all know that it's loaded with sodium, fat, and refined carbohydrates.

This is a healthy and easy way to satisfy those cravings without all the grease and fat. AND--it's something that the WHOLE FAMILY (kiddos, too!) can prepare and enjoy TOGETHER.
Every once in a while you have to indulge in the things you like but it is important to have them in moderation.  Pizza is the perfect type of meal to make ingredient substitutions that won't completely ruin your diet---or the taste of the dish!
Ingredients:
  • 100% Whole Wheat Pitas
  • Olive oil
  • Shredded Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese
  • Natural Pizza Sauce
  • Add veggies that you love, I have used sauteed mushrooms, spinach, zucchini, garlic, red onions, fresh tomatoes and basil.  You can also experiment with sliced chicken, ground turkey etc.


Arrange pitas on a cookie sheet and lightly brush with oil.  Top with pizza sauce, veggies and mozzarella.  Bake until cheese is melted.  Enjoy as an appetizer, snack or meal with a nice side salad!
